Alexandra Grodzicki's Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Alexandra Grodzicki (Gorski), in her sleep, on September 4, 2024.
Alex (aka Sandy) was a loving and devoted mother, wife, sister, grandmother, and friend whose generosity and fun loving spirit touched the lives of many.
Born in 1941 in Wilmington, DE to the late Florence (Staniszewski) and Edward Gorski Sr., Alex graduated from PS DuPont High School and Temple School of Nursing. Alex married the love of her life, Robert Grodzicki (Bobby) in 1966 and devoted her life to raising their 3 children. Later in life, she took great joy in spending time with her grandchildren.
Alex was very competitive and greatly enjoyed playing cards and Balderdash with her family and friends on her porch at her home in Dewey Beach. She loved to read, listen to music, and tell inappropriate jokes.
Alex is survived by her children, Jennifer Powell (Jed), Sinking Spring, PA, Robert Grodzicki Jr., Dewey Beach, DE, and Jessica Granger, Dewey Beach, DE, her grandchildren, Jarrett Powell (Kate), Gilbert, AZ, Jessica Powell, Phoenix, AZ, Jocelyn Powell Pathak (Subrat), Vernon Hills, IL, Connor Grodzicki and Sophie Grodzicki, Ankeny, IA, Sierra Granger and Alexander Granger, Dewey Beach, DE, and her Aunt Marie Hartmann (Bruce), Landenberg, PA, as well as many cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, her husband, and her brother, Edward Gorski, Jr.
A celebration of life will be held at the Hyatt Place Dewey Beach, 1301 Coastal Highway, Dewey Beach, DE 19971 on Tuesday, October 22, 5-7pm.
