Alexander Rutherford's Obituary
'Alexander Rutherford III, age 68, passed away peacefully, in the presence of loved ones. Born and raised in Niagara Falls, New York, Alex spent the last 35 years in Delaware, where he became a beloved figure in the community.
Survived by his two sons, Nicholas and Scott Rutherford, and his longtime partner, Lorie Hollen, Alex was a loving father and partner whose warmth and humor touched everyone he met. He had a passion for all things on two wheels, spending countless hours building and customizing motorcycles and cars. His love for racing, particularly dirt track, led him to work with various teams as a mechanic, where his skills and enthusiasm shone brightly.
Music was another of Alex's great loves. A connoisseur of old rock and roll, he owned hundreds of records and could often be found playing his guitar or drums, sharing his passion with friends and family. His infectious sense of humor lit up any room, often leading to uproarious laughter at his clever jokes.
A familiar face at Jeff's Taproom, Alex had a special stool where he shared stories and camaraderie with friends, embodying the spirit of community. He was known for his willingness to lend a hand, whether it was helping a friend in need or sharing his expertise.
Alex's zest for life extended to hunting and outdoor adventures, where he worked and played hard, always making the most of every moment. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Alex's life will be held at Jeff's Taproom, 416 Market St, Bridgeville, DE 19933 on Saturday July 20th, from 2:00pm~6:00pm.
