Albert Raymond Reid Jr.'s Obituary
Albert Raymond Reid (Al) of Ocean View, DE, passed away on May 4, 2026, at the age of 86. He was the son of Albert and Claire McCluskey Reid. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy Wampler Reid; daughters Sandra Galloway (Mark) and Karen White (Matt); and grandchildren Rachel Galloway, Ansley White, Caroline White, and Alex White. He is also survived by his sister, Katherine Clark, as well as a niece and a nephew.
Al was born on December 9, 1939, and raised in Delaware County, PA, and later lived in Claymont, DE, before marrying Nancy and raising their daughters in north Wilmington, DE. A graduate of Ridley Park High School, Al served in the US Marine Corps and worked for the DuPont Company in its engineering department. After his retirement from DuPont, Al and Nancy moved to Ocean View, DE. They were also snowbirds for many years at the Lake San Marino Resort in Naples, FL. Al enjoyed many outdoor adventures, including camping and later traveling to various national parks in the western US.
A private celebration of Al’s life will be held at a future date.
