Albert Hudson Cook Jr.'s Obituary
Albert H. Cook Jr., age 62, of Millville, Delaware, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 5, 2026.
Albert, lovingly known as “Butch,” was born on March 5, 1964, in Chester, Pennsylvania. He was a proud graduate of Claymont High School, Class of 1982.
Following graduation, Butch began a long career with Comcast, where he worked for 23 years before retiring and fulfilling his dream of returning to the beach. Life at the beach suited him well. He enjoyed crabbing, spending time by the water, and living life with a little bit of magic.
Butch had a deep love for adventure and togetherness. He enjoyed traveling, cruising, cooking, camping, going to Disney World, and, most of all, making people laugh. He had a special gift for turning ordinary moments into memorable celebrations. Whether it was a holiday, gathering, or simple visit, Butch always went above and beyond to make others feel valued and loved, making everyone around him feel like the most important person in the room.
Above all, Butch cherished his family.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Cook (Sarah Cook); his sister and best friend, Shirley Lewis (Marshall Lewis); his beloved grandchildren, Callie, Marli, and Grady Cook, whom he adored; and the love of his life, Karen Porter. He is also survived by his nephew Rob Houser (Jen Houser) and niece Chris Listmann (Brady), and many cousins, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends, including his close friend Joe Rozmarynowski.
Butch was preceded in death by his parents, Albert H. Cook Sr. and Margaret A. Cook (Martz); and his grandparents, Elmer and Margaret Martz and John and Alberta Cook.
A funeral service will be held on March 14, 2026, at Parsell Funeral Homes, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Hwy, Lewes, DE at 3:00 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather in celebration of Butch’s life and to honor the joy and love he brought to those around him from 2:00 PM until the start of the service.
