Albert P. Boxer's Obituary
Albert was an Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean Albert P Boxer, age 86, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully at his home in Lewes on Friday, December 19, 2014. He was born on April 13, 1928 in Shenandoah, PA son of the late John Boxer and Mary (Cashmier) Basanavage.
Albert was an Army veteran of both World War II and the Korean Conflict serving as a medic, being honorably discharged in 1953. He retired from General Motors after 35 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and loved playing harmonica with his friends.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by two brothers Leonard and Joseph. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Joan Mervine Boxer, a daughter Sharon Papaleo of Long Neck, DE, a son Ronald Boxer and his wife Princess of Newark DE, three granddaughters, Heather Papaleo, Jaime Boxer Hilliard and her husband Travis, ToriAnne Davies, and three great granddaughters, Ariyana Hardy, Ysabela Hardy, and Lily Mae Hilliard.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2014 at 1 PM at Manor House, Sussex East, Route 9, Lewes, DE. Interment with Military Honors will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
