Alan "Dukies" John Dommes' Obituary
Alan "Dukie" Dommes, age 69, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 25, 1945 in Scranton, PA, son of the late Louis Dommes and Lois (Burnside) Rehoski.
Alan was raised in Duryea, PA by his mother & step-father, Edward Rehoski. He was educated in the Duryea public school system and graduated from Northeast High School in 1963. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1968.
Alan enjoyed a 30 year career as a salesman and would later become part owner of Rehoski's Market in Duryea where he retired in 2005. He served on the Duryea council for eight years and also on the board of the Lower Lackawanna Valley Sewer Authority.
Alan was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church in Lewes, DE where he served as a Eucharistic Minister for the past six years.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ann Reap Dommes; two sons, Alan Jr. & his wife Kristina of Moscow, PA, & Christopher & his wife Mary Kay of Rehoboth Beach, DE; three grandsons, Michael, Ryan, and Aiden all of Moscow, PA; three brothers, Arnold of Duryea, PA, Barry of Halstead, PA and Edward Rehoski of Duryea, PA and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE where friends may visit beginning at 10 AM.
