I was moved to Google Aimee Weist out of the blue this late-April 2025. She taught me Creative Writing, and so much more, more than 50 years ago now at Severna Park. I was glad that I had made this same venture two decades ago, and that I had actually managed to get her on a telephone. Though I doubt she could pinpoint me among the perhaps thousands students she taught, I made it clear then that she was one teacher I would never forget. RIP lovely lady.
I just learned about Aimee's passing. I and my husband appreciated her friendship and knowledge. She was a wonderful person. She is missed.

I was so fortunate to have had Dr. Wiest as my English teacher way back in 1983 at Severna Park High School. Dr. Wiest made English fun, and she really left a positive impact not only with myself, but with many other students. I will always remember walking into the classroom and on the chalkboard would be the day of the week, but it wasn't just Monday, it was "Marvelous Monday", "Terrific Tuesday", or "Wonderful Wednesday". Through the years I have thought of Dr. Wiest, often. I can't remember any of my three children mentioning a teacher that had as much of an impact on them, as Dr. Wiest had on me. She taught all of her students to treat everyone with respect, kindness, and loyalty, and she practiced what she preached. Dr. Wiest was a wonderful person, kind, talented, loving, and caring she will be missed by many, but will be forgotten by few.
I had Dr. Wiest as an English teacher at Severna Park High School in the early nineties. I still remember how kind and open she was not just to me, but to all her students. Everything seemed positive and a possibility. I feel like she "saw" me and my creativity and it gave me the confidence to continue down my artistic path.
I met Aimee through friends of friends, and I loved her as soon as I met her—Lovely, kind, talented, smart, and genuinely kind without a mean bone in her body. We bonded over our shared cancer journey, and I was shocked at her passing. I will miss her positive spirit and goodness. My condolences to Charlotte and to all who loved her and were lucky enough to have her in their lives.

Our Dear Aimee, what smiles you brought to our faces with that lovely smile of yours. The fact that you saw goodness and wonderfulness in everything around you was amazing and made us want to experience that as well. I remember the first time my great granddaughter met you - she went running into your arms with such a sweet smile on her face. Children know things!!!! Thank you for being our friend and such a good neighbor. Mark is going to miss that yearly New Year’s Eve drink with you.
I met Aimee and Charlotte when I moved to Lewes and they were my nearby neighbors. I was overwhelmed by the move and Aimee was welcoming, sweet and kind.
I am so sorry to hear of Dr. Wiest passing, I have not seen her in a few years. I remember her quiet nature and pleasant being. I had the pleasure of meeting her at a dental office I worked at in Rehoboth and had many interesting conversations. Please know she will be missed by many. Prayers and hugs to her family and friends.

I remember walking into my parents-in-law's house on Keesey Street in the late sixties and hearing some wonderful music coming from their piano, and yes, it was Aimee at the keyboard, playing all kinds of music. My Mother Tom and Father Claude had told me a little about her, and I was glad to meet her and talk to her a little about teaching, as I was also a high school English teacher. Aimee's parents, whom Jim and I affectionately called Aunt Faith and Uncle Harry lived across the street. I do extend my sincere condolences to Charlotte, whom I never met, but I especially want to send my sympathy to Sally and her family. I kept up to date on her and her babies from Mother Tom, but then I lost contact after she passed away in 1996 and Jim was transferred to Wisconsin. Two years ago we returned to York, and I do occasionally drive through the old neighborhood. Sally, I hope that you and your family are well, and I'm so sorry to hear of the loss of your sister.
