I knew Dick as President of the Arlington (VA) Roots Users Group (RUG) and as a member of its executive committee until his death last month. He invested a great part of himself in the RUG's service, contributing his technical and management skills to its existence over twenty years. His friendship and generosity will not be forgotten!

Dick was a neighbor, mentor, and friend. Steph and I will miss him and his humor. May he be at peace and now with his wife in eternity.
I met Dick Cleaveland through his fine work with setting up the Dewey Beach website and the stream lining of the town's election process. He was the most generous individual with sharing his knowledge and expertise. We will remember him for his work ethic and ability to be there whenever needed. We send our condolences to his family. He will be remembered for his generous spirit.

I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Cleaveland while employed at a banking institution. I greatly looked forward to the visits and long conversations that we had shared, from stories of his family, his beloved wife Barbara, and even stories of his landscaping outside of his home - he always loved to share stories and to pass on his knowledge and experiences. Richard will be greatly missed and my many condolences go to his family. May he rest in peace.
