Karen M. Reid, age 71 of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 28, 2019, from complications of Parkinson's disease. She was born on November 25, 1947 in Washington, DC, daughter of the late Wallace and Marion (Lap Read Obituary
Few people come close to being an angle on Earth. Karen was one. I will miss her smile, her sincerity, her creativity, her love. She was a gift to all, whether they knew her or not, and she was a great sister-in-law.

Carol and I send our heartfelt condolences to you Mark and the family. I will always remember Karen as cheerful, warm and welcoming whenever I showed up with another project to work on. There were many times when Karen would ask if I would like a sandwich if it was getting close to the lunch hour. She was a special person to know.
We will miss that smile but the memories will remain forever.

I met Karen at the International Institute of Interior Design in Washington D.C. in 1966. We had so much fun creating beautiful interiors and painting pretty pictures together. I loved getting to know her wonderful parents, too. My husband, Stanley, and I always stayed in contact and visited Karen and Mark in Ft. Wayne, IN, Goshen, CT and Lewes, DE. We remember their love and enthusiasm raising vegetables and always enjoyed Karen’s cooking and hospitality. We feel so fortunate to have had her as a friend and will miss her happy spirit.

Karen was one of my favorite people ever. So positive and loving always. We shared Christmas in Maryland, when we saw Santa in the sky and his footprints in the fireplace. We had a great vacation with our Moms in Miami and great times at Lake Ottertail with our families. She shares a birthday with our daughter, Ky, in whom Karen was always interested and and caring. Her kind,warm spirit has moved on, but we will miss her deeply.
