Eugenia "Jean" A. Waters, age 76, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, departed this life on Sunday, May 2, 2021 after complications from surgery. She was born on Tuesday, October 10, 1944 in New Haven, CT, daughter of the late Anthony J. and H Read Obituary
Hi Jean’s family, i am late to the memories, but wanted to express my sympathies to her family, and that I really enjoyed knowing Jean. I met her working at Speakman, and like many at Speakman that might not know of her passing wanted you to know she was thought of fondly, and was someone who had a way of making others feel welcome.

Jean and I go all the way back to 1975. She was married to Russ Toni then and living on Spring Rd. then Livingston Dr Our children and Jean's sons Mike and Robby went to school together at Montowese Grammar School. Jean, Janet Smith, and Jane Guercia were close friends. We supported each other through many crises including Jean's divorce and the death of my mom. We lunched many times together, we were on the same bowling league and we would travel to Newport, RI or Kittery, ME on a whim. We would shop till we dropped at the outlet stores in Kittery. We would lunch at the Weathervane across from the outlets. We were young homemakers sharing our free time together. We would Christmas shop in New Haven mall. We babysat each other's kids. We were pretty much in daily contact with each other. Summer time was especially fun because the tight school schedule didn't leave a whole lot of get together time. We enjoyed 'Happy Hours" on my back porch. Our favorite lunch place was Rustic Oak in the center of North Haven. Much later, years actually, we became Facebook friends and I truly enjoyed that "electronic" friendship. I'll truly miss Jean, with all my heart. When my dog,Charley and I decided to join Leashes of Love, Jean greeted us with open
arms. She was always the bright spot in our visits to the Senior Facilities. The residents especially enjoyed Roxy dancing for them. We will miss her bright smile.

Jean was one of my dearest friends in school when growing up. She was loving and compassionate all and will be missed. I send my condolences to her family and hope that memories will help them heal.
I have known Jean for many years. Our friendship started while her and Dave were living in Elkton Maryland. That is when I started grooming her standard Poodle, Charlie. The first time she brought Charlie to me for grooming he was just a pup. Jean was somewhat anxious because she didn't know what to expect. When I finished his grooming I brought Charlie out to her she squealed with excitement. At first I thought she didn't like the grooming but with tears in her eyes she looked at me and said he was just beautiful. That day our friendship started and lasted all these years. Then along came Reba and I groomed for until she moved to Rehoboth. I spent many happy times with Jean and Dave with my poodles Tigger and Tara at her home in Elkton. I wrote many poems that she loved and one especially was the one I wrote for her grandson Michael when he past away. I will miss Jean and our talks, her laugher and her good advice. Jean you will always be in my heart as one of my best friends who was always there for me. Love you and miss you terribly. You are with God now doing what you do best, making everyone happy with your infectious smile you shared with so many here on earth. ❤️
Jean, was one of the warmest and loving people I have had the pleasure of knowing. I would look for her in church and she always took the time to say hello and how were things. When my dog was diagnose with cancer Jean was always there to ask how things were going and how my girl was doing. I was very blessed to have had the pleasure of calling her friend! Peace and comfort to her family.
