We were sorry to learn of Warren's death. We have fond memories of him and Mary Lee at Good Shepherd. He served Good Shepherd well as Junior Warden
A sympathy card has been sent to the family of Warren Coleman Smith.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family.
You were a powerful presence in my life and I will miss you greatly. Your sense of humor and positive attitude will always be with me.
One of the greatest pleasures of our short time of living in Lewes has been to know Warren. Truly the epitome of a Christian in every thing he did and said
Peace, Words can not express all we would like at a time like this. However, with our faith in Jesus we KNOW life is not ended for Warren, it is changed, and what a wonderful change it is for him. No more suffering. We know we will be with him down the road. Prayers are being sent his way and will be offered for all you his family that the peace of Christ will be with you at
What I remember most about Warren as we were growing up was how hard he worked. There were always new business initiatives underway and or household projects that demonstrated his vision and willingness to take calculated risks. He fascinated me and he was the perfect business role model.
I loved his stories about interviewing with Procter & Gamble, going to China with Paul and whatever his latest adventure was.
It was always fun to watch the banter between Warren and my dad. Their Gin Rummy games were more like Harvard Vs Cornell. Their games were never played quietly and each hand evoked constant banter and ribbing. Warren's laugh was infectious and whenever they got together you heard it often.
As a lazy kid who tried to avoid work whenever possible I still remember trying to dodge Warren when he was gathering up help for a project. Warren Jr. and Stevie were already used to helping out and they developed strong work ethics early on. I spent more energy trying to escape work and there were valuable life lessons once he finally got me started. Being recruited to dig post holes for a backyard vineyard still makes me chuckle. Warren Sr. managed to get me to pitch in which was a valuable lesson on how execution is just as important as vision. I kept wondering when he told me how long it took to establish grapes why we were doing it. I was completely useless and it was hot out but everyone was patient and eventually a hole or two got dug with my help. Every time I have a glass of wine I think of the Smith's back yard and what it takes to produce grapes and start a vineyard. Vision, hard work, patience, faith, knowledge, initiative, and character were the lessons Warren taught everyone he met.
Warren could see the future and then make it happen. I thought of him often during my career and I will always remember him fondly. My prayers and best wishes to Mary Lee, Warren, Cissy, Paul, and Lauren!
Love,
Chas
Dear Mary Lee, Cissy and Warren
I remember your dad fondly. He was one in a million. He was a hard worker, honest and very focused. He was always on a mission to be innovative and to do the right thing. Warren was never afraid of challenges. The greater the challenge, the happier he was. I often ride by Hollins Ave to see another friend and i always think fondly of Warren. He was a great guy.He was a pioneer with the PC.
He will be in my fond memories for many years.
