John Bennett Shelton, Jr. of Lewes, DE passed away after a short illness at University of PA Hospital on December 2, 2018, at the age of 74. He was surrounded by his loving family. John attended St. Peter’s Catholic school in New Read Obituary
To John's family = so sorry in his passing. We were next door neighbors in Jefferson Farms(Late 60s/early 70s).During his bachelor era, Him and Frankie had some wild parties over there.He was a great neighbor. He was good to all, especially the kidz.

Dear Chris: I am broken hearted for you. I met you in New Mexico when you first started dating John. That meeting began a wonderful friendship and I watched as your relationship with John grew into your "watch" engagement and your beautiful wedding. I remember the day we helped you move into your Woodcrest home and the way we found that house. We've lost touch over the years but you and John have always remained in my heart. His loss must be incredibly hard for you. Please know that any time you need to talk or a shoulder to cry on, I'm here for you. I worked with John at The News Journal, I was a photographer and worked in the newsroom,and worked there for 50 years. In all that time, I never passed John in the
hallways or outside that he did't have a big smile on that handsome face and a friendly firm handshake to greet you. And oddly enough I bumped into Gene Ashley the next day and he said the same thing about John. Gene's wife also worked at The News Journal with John. Gene is a TV photographer for Ch 12.
John, with tears in our eyes we all love you and will miss you.

Dear Chris and Family,
So very sorry to read of John's passing. I have many, many memories of playing golf with John. I first met him when I was the president of the Greenhill Golf Club way back in the 80's and always enjoyed his company and his zest for the game. Chris, Kevin and I were so sorry to hear about John’s death when his name was announced at St. Jude’s this morning. We always enjoyed talking with John in Woodcrest and when we ran into him down here in Lewes. Our thoughts and prayers will be with you during this difficult time.
