I first met COL Linnen while assigned to the DoD Counterintelligence Directorate, the Pentagon. It was my honor and privilege to know Jim and work closely with him while I was there. Jim was a highly experienced counterintelligence professional who provided valuable insights to those of us assigned to the CI Staff based on his many years of multi-level management of U.S. Army CI organizations and operations world-wide. Jim was a scholar and a gentleman, totally unassuming with respect to his many academic and professional accomplishments. I was sorry to learn of Jim's passing and respectfully ask that his family members accept my deepest and most sincere condolences for their loss. Rest in peace, my friend.
