I was privileged to have worked with Tony many years ago at Cutler, and to have been able to be called his friend. We first met in 1973 when I was an apprentice. Tony could sometimes be gruff (yeah, I know, surprising, right???) and intimidating. And I was a wet behind the ears kid just out of high school. I then went into the military in early 74, and returned to Cutler 4 years later. I had grown up and Tony warmly welcomed me back and took me under his wing. I learned a lot, separate and apart from making sure Tony got his pie and coffee each day at 4:30. I then left the industry in 1980 to become a Police Officer. Regretfully, I did not keep in touch with Tony over the years but I did think of him often. Now, as a Chief of Police who also has a law degree and license, I look back and see Tony teaching me how to run a crane and be a competent sign hanger. God Bless you, my friend and mentor. Rest in Peace; you have more than earned it.
