Regina L. Vitella

March 12, 1940 - April 8, 2022

Regina L. (Wellet) Vitella, age 82 of Milton, DE, passed away on Friday April 8, 2022, at Beebe Hospital in Lewes, DE, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 12, 1940, in Hillside, NJ, daughter of the late William and Mary Wellet. A registered nurse for 40 years, Regina was a wonderful woman with a kind heart and a shining personality. Marrying her high school sweetheart and dedicating her life to raising her four sons was her pride and joy. Loved by so many, she was the life of the party with an incredibly witty sense of humor. Storytelling, often with colorful embellishments, was one of Regina’s many gifts. An avid and very knowledgeable antique collector, she was also extremely generous and so willing to share much of her life long antique collection with family and close friends. Spending summer vacations in Seaside Park, NJ provided an abundance of wonderful memories for Regina. A loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, she will be deeply missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, Regina was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Wellet. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 60 years, Emile Vitella; sons: Stephen Vitella (Maryanne), Jamie Vitella (Karen), David Vitella (Sharon) and Tom Vitella (Liz); grandchildren: Kai Vitella, Kira Vitella, Nicholas Vitella, Timothy Vitella, Julia Vitella and Alyssa Vitella; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
