Loretta Marie Scully, age 76 of Bridgeville, DE, died peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2021, at home in Bridgeville, DE. Loretta lost her 16-year battle with Multiple Myeloma an incurable blood cancer. She was born on November 8, 1944, in Camden, NJ, daughter of the late George and Alfreda (Raiginski) Vane. Loretta graduated from Camden Catholic High School in 1962, and then Cooper Hospital Medical Technology School. She worked at Cooper Hospital in Camden, NJ then for Arthritis and Rheumatology, a doctor's office with a practice in Cherry Hill and Voorhees, NJ. Loretta was an avid reader, an excellent cook, and a loving wife and mother. She also volunteered at Nanticoke Hospital. Loretta and Jim lived in South Jersey and moved to DE at retirement. Loretta was devoted to her cats and loved to spoil them, Baby, Sweetieboy, Little Girl, Smokey, Buddy, Midnight, Mommy Cat, and especially Izzy. She was known for her kindness and compassion. She will be missed by her loved ones. The family would like to thank Dr. Sawhney of the Bayhealth Cancer Center and all of his staff for taking such good care of Loretta. She loved everyone there. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her son, James A. Scully III. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James A. Scully Jr.; her son, Philip A. Scully of Barrington, NJ; her sisters-in-law: Linda Punthrangkul of MD, and Susan Scully of NJ. Services will be private.
