I only found out yesterday that my dear friend and colleague Joan (the Giant Brain) passed away. We kept in touch on and off but whenever we connected it was like no time had passed. My condolences to her mom (the Nana) and her nephews. I will miss you greatly my friend and take you with me everywhere I go. God speed to you and long live "group/ungroup"...love ya..El Prez.
Joan and I worked together at Merrill Lynch and then I worked for her at Deutsche Bank. She wasn't just a colleague or manager to me, she was a friend, my partner in crime and my mentor. She was the first manager I had who truly believed in me and my capability and as a result she trusted me and gave me so much responsibility. I learned so much more from her than just the job. I learned how to present myself with confidence and preparedness, how to stand up for those things I believed in and remain calm through difficult and challenging situations. I still use many of her phrases at work and smile thinking, "wow I sounded like Joan". Her humor got us through some tough times and we really made an incredible team. I'm honored and and so fortunate to have had her as a manager, mentor and friend. As heartbroken as I am, I feel that I will carry her words of wisdom, support and humor with me throughout the rest of my life. RIP my dear friend - I will miss you.
Ms. Nisler was my all time favorite sub. Sitting with her in the mornings was always my favorite part of my day.
Ms. Nisler was more than just my favorite substitute teacher. She was like a family member. She helped out students including me and other kids. She was like a grandma to the kids, she gave advice, made jokes (that were actually funny), and was overall supportive to everyone. Her soul will forever remain in my heart and all rehoboth elementary students who spent time with her. Rest in peace Ms. Nisler, you will truly, truly be missed. I hope you are in a better place.
Ms. Nisler was one of my favorite substitute teachers and she always will be. Knowing that she is gone really hurts. It always excited me when I would walk into my class room and I would see her as my sub. Ms. Nisler honestly was so kind and thoughtful and always knew how to make me laugh. Ms Nisler was a great person she was always so kind and funny she was my favorite substitute. I remember she would always tell stories at halloween. Her death was very unexpected she will be missed by many.
I got to know Joan through subbing at Rehoboth Elementary. She always made me laugh and I respected her greatly for her no-nonsense but loving way with the kids. I will miss her “Hello Stranger!” greeting as we only crossed paths occasionally in the past year. Condolences to Joan’s mother. She was a daughter to be proud of ❤️
Dear Joan was my next door neighbor. She was the kindest most thoughtful person and we were incredibly lucky to have her and her beloved Mother as our neighbors. Our sincere condolences go to her mother and her entire family. The world was definitely a better place when she was in it. God bless you Joan.
Joan was my long term substitute when my husband had heart surgery. I never had to worry about my kids because I knew they were in great hands with Joan. Every day when I returned she always asked how my husband was doing. She was such a kind and compassionate woman that will truly be missed. Prayers are with her family.
