George Frederick Sullivan

October 15, 1931 - April 15, 2022

George Frederick Sullivan, age 90 of Millsboro, DE, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022, at his home. He was born on October 15, 1931, in Yonkers, NY, son of the late John J. and Mabel (McCauley) Sullivan. Mr. Sullivan served honorably in the U. S. Air Force for four years during the Korean Conflict. He was a graduate of Penn State, Class of 1958, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration. Mr. Sullivan held management positions in both the dairy and plastics industries. He loved staying active, especially sailing, skiing, and playing tennis and golf. He was a former member of Hercules Country Club in Wilmington, DE. Mr. Sullivan’s marvelous, wry sense of humor and engaging personality reflected his Irish ancestry. Above all, he cherished time with those he held most dear. Mr. Sullivan was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be genuinely missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sullivan was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mary Kay Sullivan; and his brother, John Sullivan. He is survived by his wife of more than 25 years, Eleanor “Lynn” (Murphy) Sullivan; his children: John Sullivan (Jeanne) of Gaithersburg, MD, Jim Sullivan (Kathy) of Lake Bluff, IL, Sherry Haberlein (Paul) of Cumberland, MD, and Dan Sullivan (Karen) of Middletown, DE; his step-children: Donna Narvel (James) of Wildwood, MO and Lee Andrew DeLorme of Chestertown, MD; and his grandchildren: Joshua Sullivan, Ryan Sullivan, Ben Sullivan, Brian Sullivan, Nathan Haberlein, Courtney Haberlein, Paul Andrew Haberlein, Zachary Sullivan, Patrick Sullivan, and Ava Narvel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 13, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at St. Jude the Apostle Church, 152 Tulip Drive, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. An additional viewing will be held the night prior, Thursday, May 12, 2022, between 6:00 PM and 8:00 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Entombment will follow the Mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 32112 Vines Creek Road, Dagsboro, DE. Masks are required and social distancing protocols must be observed by all persons attending or participating in part of the services held at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Please sign the virtual guestbook located on the tribute page.
