George Ashton Roussey, age 90 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away after a long illness, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Complete Care, in Severna Park, MD. He was born on July 14, 1931, in Baltimore, MD, son of the late Frederick W. and Audrey M. Roussey. Mr. Roussey was a proud veteran, having honorably served as a US Marine Corps Sargent during the Korean War. He was employed for Baltimore Gas & Electric for many dedicated years before his retirement. Mr. Roussey was an avid sports fan, remaining loyal to his Orioles and Ravens throughout the years. He also enjoyed NASCAR races and coached Little League baseball. Mr. Roussey soaked in all that coastal living had to offer, particularly fishing and crabbing. He always had fun on his trips to casinos, as well. Above all, Mr. Roussey cherished time with those he held most dear. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Loved by many, he will be deeply missed by all who had the good fortune to know him. In addition to his parents, Mr. Roussey was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalie Evelyn Roussey; his granddaughter, Kimberly Johnson; and his brother, Frederick Roussey. He is survived by his sons: Kenneth Roussey (Kimberly) of Pasadena, MD, Glenn Roussey (Deborah) of Ocean City, MD, and William Johnson (Linda) of Terrytown, LA; his grandchildren: Lori Ziverts, Jennifer Simmons, Joshua Roussey, Jessica Roussey, Kenny Roussey, and Kristopher Roussey; and his great-grandchildren: Rhodie Hurley, Mason Quade, Ryan Melito, Olivia Simmons, Emma Simmons, Austin Roussey, Kinsley Roussey, and Reese Roussey. A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow at 1:00 PM, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
