Francis V. O’Meara, age 90, of Lewes, DE passed away on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Beebe Medical Center. He was born on July 3, 1931, in Washington, D.C, son of the late Elijah M. and Margaret C. (Barry) O’Meara. Mr. O’Meara was a proud veteran of the United States Army, having fought in the Korean War, and was honorably discharged rising to the rank of Corporal. He made his career as a digital engineer, working for Verizon, from which he retired after many years of service. He was member of the Telephone Pioneers and attended Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro. He and his wife, June, relocated from Carroll County, MD to Lewes, DE, spending the past 24 years at Angola by the Bay. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend and will be deeply missed by those that were fortunate to have known him. In addition to his parents, Francis was preceded in death by his brother, Reid O'Meara and by his sister, Mary Margaret O'Meara. In addition to his beloved wife, June E. (Haynie) O’Meara, he is survived by his sons, Michael S. O’Meara (Jean) of Carroll County, MD, Gregory A. Boring (Donna) of Catonsville, MD, and Steven J. Boring of Lewes, DE; six beloved grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, of whom he was so proud. A Viewing will be held Monday, on March 14, 2022, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Parsell Funeral Home & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958.
