Dear Carolyn, family and friends of Francis,
On behalf of the United States Submarine Veterans, we offer our sincere condolences at Francis´s passing. Please know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are always saddened whenever a fellow "Bubblehead" departs on Eternal Patrol. He served with honor on the USS Cavalla SS-244.
To our "Brother-of-the-Phin" we say, "Sailor, rest your oar. We have the watch. Fair Winds and Following Seas." Thank you for your service to our country.
Carolyn and family... "may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you." 2 Thessalonians 3:16 (ESV).

I spent a lot of my teen years with the Holland family. Dutch was always willing to bring me along on their trips to the beach and I'm forever grateful for that time. What stood out for me the most was his love for his daughter, Crystal. He thought the world of her and I am honored to have had a front row seat of their special bond. I always appreciated his no nonsense way and his devotion to family. He will be missed.
Our neighborhood has lost an incredible man. Dutch was a friend to all of us. He was one of the first neighbors to welcome my husband, Ed and me into the neighborhood. He was so easy to talk with - a great conversationalist. Dutch was always out taking walks in the 'hood with his faithful canine buddy, Duke. He loved to work in his yard, cutting his own grass as long as he could. He maintained his positive attitude even after his health started to fail. He and I agreed that we were in the finest place possible to enjoy life to its fullest in retirement. There will never be another Dutch.
