Catherine Lawton Travis "Jackie" Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Catherine Lawton Travis, age 90, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away quietly on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at her residence in Rehoboth Beach, DE. She was born January 4, 1931, in Lewes, DE, daughter of the late John R. and Catherine Ingram Lawton. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 71 years James Whiteley Travis, Jr. on Nov. 30, 2021. Jackie as she was known to her friends and relatives lived for her husband and four boys. His parting created a great void in her life but now they are together forever. She loved boating, fishing, and a round of golf with her husband, which brought great enjoyment to them both. Above all Mrs. Travis enjoyed spending time with her family and those she held dear and especially her husband who was never far from her side. Family and many dear friends will never forget the wonderful memories created by the two of them. Mrs. Travis was a graduate of Lewes High School and lifelong member of the Epworth United Methodist Church of Rehoboth Beach. She is survived by her sons: James Travis lll (Debbie) of Harbeson, DE, John "Jack' Lawton Travis (Joseph) of Rehoboth Beach, DE and Baltimore, MD, David Travis (Pamela) of Milton, DE, and Bradley L. Travis Sr. (Michele) of Lewes, DE; 10 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. All services will be private for the immediate family. Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, social distancing and masks are required for attendance at the private cemetery services.
