Bruce was an amazing friend. I first got to know him in a professional setting, but he quickly became a dear friend. "Cat Tails," the beautiful home on Rehoboth Bay that he and Irv built was always a welcome respite for me, my kids, and even our pets (especially our pets!). Together they adopted numerous cats over the years, and those were lucky kitties, indeed!
He was such a calm, peaceful soul. We could talk about anything or sit in companionate quiet. His interests were varied and fascinating; he introduced my children to British TV comedies and The Who. In the last decade of their lives, he and Irv took several spectacular vacations, including a Mediterranean cruise on the QE2 and a trip to England where they tracked down the Savage family manor house. One of my happiest memories is when he and Irv visited us in New York City and we went to see Bette Midler in "Hello Dolly."
Bruce was kind, generous, fun, and a true gentleman. I will miss him tremendously.
