I was privileged to enjoy serving as Colonel Letonoff’s adjutant for several months when he commanded the 2d Bn 32d Armor in Germany. I recognized then he was not only an unusually competent officer but a man with widely varied interests. When I became aware of his career in art after retiring from the Army, I admired him more and had the pleasure of exchanging some correspondence with him. After reading his obituary I am even more appreciative of how special he was, a modern polymath.
My deepest condolences

Lacy, our condolences for you and your family. I enjoyed Victor's smile, his great sense of humor when he used to come into the Bank to see you. I feel honored to have known Victor and enjoyed his company. He accomplished many things in his lifetime, and his kindness and caring were Victor. He will be missed but he leaves an outstanding legacy.
God Bless you and hold on to all the great memories.
With sincere sympathy,
Carol & Bob Cavallero
Our deepest condolences to Lacy and the whole family. It was a privilege to know Victor.

Victor was a prince among men. An officer and a gentleman who set the standard for all who followed. A Renaissance man. Creative, caring and kind. He had a strong moral compass that too often is a rarity. He made many contributions throughout his life that will live on. But he has left a hole by his absence that fond memories will help fill.

Victor was a true renaissance man and I fortunate enough to know him!
My deepest sympathy to Lacy and all of Victor's family.
Victor was a hero to me, a model public servant in war and peace. His mastery of the beaux-arts was another, extraordinary, dimension of talent. I treasured him and Lacy as mentors and friends.
