I remember so well her 'sparkle' and her positive attitude. We were Delapem girls together so many, many years ago. I shared her passion for air-stewardessing, but never was lucky enough to be chosen by the big shots in charge.
I haven't seen her in years, but my heart is so very sad that she is now flying loops with all the angels!!

John and I treasure the yearly trips to the Florida Keys with Ruth and Pat. Ruth always made the trips special by bringing her favorite cooking utensils, spices, etc. and we would take turns cooking dinner (she always cooked the best, no contest). I remember one of Ruth's favorite adventures was riding the airplane to Fort Jefferson and learning more about one of her relatives. What wonderful memories she has left for John and I. We will dearly miss her.

Ruth and I spent many summer vacations travelling to foreign lands. We enjoyed the adventures of seeing new places and tasting new foods. Her easy-going manner and sense of humor made for good travel experiences.Oh, the fond memories seeing the sights we shared is ongoing. Thanks for the memories, Ruth.

I met Ruth when I was a reasonably new F/A based in LAX in the mid 70's. I say reasonably new as I just retired after 47 years; flying the most incredible job on earth. Ruth was part of AAL when it was the best. If you got to know Ruth it was your gift from her. I loved her calm nature. I think she must have been Asian in another lifetime. Ruth is part of my best memories with AAL. She was always present when you talked to her. She had that New England demeanor, simplicity and honesty. I am grateful she is and always be part of my wonderful memories of AAL. One incredibly great thing that happened to our Ruth was that she connected back to her past. She reunited with her soul mate Patrick. God's timing is perfect. They had a partnership, love and joy that was everlasting. They did not skip a beat. They lived with love, joy, laughter and caring. I will miss your voice at the end of my phone calls. But I will always hear you. I see your smile and recall your gentleness. Until we meet again my friend. Love, Melody Kobayashi

Ruth Ward was a favorite person of our family in Roselle. Our mother, Mary Holloway, thought of her as a younger sister. Mom was thrilled when Ruth took her up on applying for American. I recall our family flew back from LA to Phil. on a 707 in 1960 when she was a stewardess on the flight. We got the royal treatment! My sister Jane and I have nothing but the fondness memories of Ruthie. Her name makes us recall wonderful times.
