Marc was a larger-than-life, lovely man; once met, never forgotten. My time at Rutgers as undergraduate was more fun, more rich with him there. My deepest condolences to Susan and family.

Marc was a larger-than-life, lovely man; once met, never forgotten. My time at Rutgers as undergraduate was more fun, more rich with him there. My deepest condolences to Susan and family.
I first met Marc while we were graduate students commuting from our homes to Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ. Since we lived in the same general area, we decide to break up the monotony of our one hour solo drives by car-pooling along with Bill H. Needless to say, with Marc's sense of humor, his many stories, and his wild laugh the drive was something that we all enjoyed.

Mark was the consummate professional and he was my go-to planning witness for many, many years. We spent countless evenings together in front of more planning and zoning boards than I care to remember. We had great talks about many things, professional and personal. We had scheduled a lunch together in Cape May a few months back just to talk and reminisce. He had to cancel just before the date. I guess it just wasn't meant to be.
I will surely miss Marc. He was certainly one of the good guys and my life was enriched by knowing him. I will never forget the bemused look captured in the photo which was posted. It immediately brings floods of memories, all good.
Dear Susan and family,
Our family is saddened to hear of Marc's passing. We have such wonderful memories of spending time in the sun with you both in Provo. Marc always had the best tan on the beach ! He so enjoyed showing our boys his underwater photos from his many dives there which they looked forward to seeing. Marc was always a professional with integrity, looking for ways to improve the resort and I enjoyed our tenure on the board together. Hold your grandkids close during this difficult time, Marc is there.

I first met Marc when our civic organization hired him to provide guidance in drafting zoning proposals to control overdevelopment in our town. Although his ideas were not accepted by the powerful interests that controlled the town, he gave us a credible alternative to make our stand.
I was drawn to Marc by his intelligence, his courage, and his ability to understand others. Marc made me feel less alone when I felt surrounded by people who either could not, or did not want to understand. My conversations with him will continue, even if they must now be only in my imagination.

Susan, we are so sorry for your loss. Marc was a lot of fun to be around, as we learned in our brief encounters with you two in Provo. I wish we had gone diving with him. Take care.
