Don, better known as Mr. Burton, Mr. Don, touched so many of us that played under him as a baseball coach in Lewes Little League. He was such an inspiration. He made you constantly want to work harder, do a better job for your teammates, trust, respect, play fair and hard against your opponent. Everyone and anyone I ever knew had nothing but the most admirable and kind things to say about Don. I know I was truly blessed to be able to play under Don. I learned so much about how to live my life through how Don led us. My heartfelt condolences to all of the Burton family.
So sorry to hear of Don's passing, I never ran into Don that he didn't ask about my older brothers. They also went to RHS with Don and his close friends. Perhaps they will meet and discuss ice cream or sodas at Snyders. Thinking of you Jackie, Bill, Wayne. Don and Sue Messick
Mr. Burton was a true Lewes icon. He dedicated many years to the youth in Lewes. Wayne warmly remembers all the Little League coaches & the impact they had on kids all those years ago. He was a kind & caring man with an infectious smile. Sending our thoughts, prayers & hugs to all of you.

I know that George will greatly miss his friendship and companionship that they shared during their walks or just sitting in the sunshine chatting about life. As one of the many lucky ones to have been blessed with Don’s grace, I am deeply sorry for his passing. I vividly remember him coaching me in little league. What a great motivator. I absolutely loved tagging along with him and my dad as they played golf with the likes of Phil Cunningham, harry Faust and many other crazy characters. My generation had the best role models in which Don was at the top of the list. What a great man that I know will be sadly missed. Reggie Soots.

Mrs. Burton, Steve, Marylou, Donnie and Tracy: So sorry for your loss. Don left the world better than he found it. I, like many of us that grew up in Lewes benefited immensely being in his orbit. The battles on the Lewes Little League field, all stars, playing golf with him and my Dad even shooting the breeze at the Daily Market. He was a kind man.
I am sorry that i wont be there Monday, but my heart will.
