I only had the honor of meeting Mr. Wolfe on a couple of occasions over the last few years, but I feel like I knew him well thanks to the stories and memorabilia Janice so lovingly shared with me about her dad. She was so proud of him and loved him very much as evidenced by the beautiful scrapbooks she made of his accomplishments, the pictures she would share via Facebook of their adventures, and the fond way she would recount tales about it. I know of his devotion to the Washington Redskins, his service to his country, and his love for his family.
Losing someone is never easy; losing someone who had had such a huge impact on the lives of others is exponentially more difficult. The more meaningful the person was to you, the more poignantly you experience their absence. I pray that you find comfort in shared memories and realize that the magnitude of your grief is a reflection of your love for him and of his impact on your lives. His legacy lives on in each person he nurtured, and if Janice is any measure of that, then the world is so much richer for having been inhabited by such a magnificent man. May God welcome him with the words, "well done, my good and faithful servant!"
Jim, dad, granddad, uncle, dear FRIEND, You have departed your earthly home on your wedding anniversary, gained your wings, and are whole again in all ways according to God's promise. Redskins heaven along with your Korean War buddies were sure to have welcomed you with open arms and happy smiles. Having met you in "recent restaurant years" as the bestest father ever to my dear friend, Sharon, you & Esther quickly became friends = we bonded immediately. From enjoying BJ's meatloaf & sides to lovin' Wanda's FRUITCAKE, you warmed our hearts with your compliments & kindness & sense of quiet & subtle laughter. You loved & supported all sports, loved America & proudly served your country & loved your family dearly. With deepest sympathy & love we honor your life and pray for the emptiness your sweet family will feel with you gone. We have been sending prayers for the entire family. We are deeply sorry to hear of his passing. God will accept him with open arms and he will be in His Grace forever. Our prayers will continue for the family during this time of sadness.

I always looked for Jim when attending services at Conley’s UMC because he always gave me a handshake, a smile, and invitations to fund raising pancake breakfast for veterans! That’s the kind of man he was. He always treated people as if they were old friends. I miss you Jim!❤️💐
James, what can I say?? Even though we met later in life through one of your amazing daughters Janice, I learned to love you real quick! Your infectious smile and tender heart, were both attributes that stood out! I admired your work with the Wounded Warriors Project, the fact that you continued to make visits to Walter Reed at the age of 85+, your and Esther’s participation in the senior Olympics and working in the produce section of your local grocery! Sky was the limit for your giving! My fondest memory of you was our watching the Amputee Softball game at GMU together!! This is where they presented you with the home plate! Well you are home now James, you can rest, we will all be reunited someday! 🙏🏻❤️
