Knott Waller, nee Marker, age 87, of Lewes and Milford, DE, died Thursday November 24, 2011 at the Milford Center in Milford surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Waller was born in Marcus Hook, PA on July 27, 1924. Mrs. Waller lived most of her life in the area of Marcus Hook, Linwood and Chadds Ford, PA. She was a graduate of Temple University School of Nursing and worked in a number of hospitals in the Philadelphia area. She was active in the arts and enjoyed the time she spent in her ceramic studio teaching so many. Once she moved to Lewes, DE, she joined the Ladies of Lewes Watercolorists, later known as Cape Artists; she won several awards for her paintings. Mrs. Waller also was skilled in the needlecraft ars, wrote poetry and compiled an extensive family genealogy. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Lewes. She is survived by the children of her first marriage to Judson A. Knott: Judith Nichols and her husband James of Milford, Martha Jane Foley of Douglasville, GA, John A. Knott and his wife Donna of Durham, NC, and Judson Knott and his wife Jo of Durham; a step-son William S. Waller, Jr. and his wife Cathy of New Eagle, PA; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Ralph Marker and John Marker; and six sisters: Helen Sninchak, Betty Thompson, Mary Ward, Peggy Jennings, Priscilla Halko and Barbara Fletcher. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of almost 20 years William S. Waller, Sr. (1985), her step-son Steven D. Waller and her brother William Marker. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 1:00 PM at the McCausland-Garrity Funeral Home, 202 S. Chester Pike, Glenolden, PA where friends may call beginning at 11:00 A.M. Interment will follow at Arlington Cemetery, 2900 State Road, Drexal Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Johns Hopkins Oncology Center, 1650 Orleans Street, #G90, Baltimore, MD 21287-0013.
