Biography

Wayne X. Cocco, age 61, of Harbeson, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE. Mr. Cocco was born on July 20, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA, son of Marie A. (McAnally) Mollick of Harbeson, DE and the late Wayne R. Cocco.

He was a 1966 graduate of St. Thomas Moore High School in Philadelphia, PA and he earned his Associates Degree in Construction Management at a community college in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Mr. Cocco returned to Delaware in 1995 residing in Harbeson where he specialized in the construction of pools and tennis courts. A real "people person," he enjoyed free lance bartending. He loved to read and was an avid sports fan of all Philadelphia teams. Wayne was a great friend to many who will be sorely missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his Father, Mr. Cocco was preceded in death by his sister Jean Higgins. In addition to his Mother, he is survived by four brothers: Thomas Leach and wife Bernadette of East Lansing, MI, John G. Cocco and wife Elizabeth of Lafayette Hills, PA, Glenn D. Cocco and wife Sharon of Santa Monica, CA, and Rev. William T. Cocco, Pastor of Christ Our King Catholic Church, Wilmington, DE; two sisters: JoAnne Sullivan and husband Mark of Andover, MA and Janet Revoir and husband Brian of Ocean View, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, 30839 Mount Joy Road, Millsboro, DE; friends may call at the church beginning at 10:30 AM. Entombment will be at All Saints Cemetery, Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
