Biography

Milton "Mitt" A. Rosander, age 89, of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE with his loving family by his side. He was born February 18, 1921 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Berndt A. and Anna Linnea (Mathson) Rosander.

Before relocating to the beach 22 years ago, Mr. Rosander lived in West Chester, PA. He was a graduate of the University of Wyoming and enjoyed a long career with General Electric, Aerospace Division, King of Prussia, PA. He loved the beach, working in his garage and NASCAR. He proudly served with the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was discharged with the rank of Sargent. Mr. Rosander was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Rehoboth Beach.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Gladys M. (Rommel) Rosander; two sons: Richard Rosander and his wife Linda of West Chester, PA and Paul Rosander of North Palm Beach, FL; three daughters: Linnea Clompus and her husband Richard of Ponte Vedra Beach, FL, Lisa Tigue of West Chester, PA and Susan Congialdi and her husband Joseph of West Chester; 12 grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter; a brother, Norman Rosander and his wife Dorothy of Rydal, PA; and a sister-in-law, Agnes Rosander of East Sandwich Bay, MA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Russell Rosander.

Funeral Services with Military Honors will be held Friday, March 5, 2010, 11:00 AM, at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
