S. Keith Parsell

Sole Owner and CEO


Keith is a native Sussex Countian, having been raised in Dagsboro then Smyrna, Delaware. He is a graduate of Wesley College in Dover, Delaware and the Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science and is licensed to practice in the States of Delaware, Maryland and Pennsylvania. He also holds an insurance license in the State of Delaware for preneed funeral arrangements.

Keith has three children: Christina, Johnathan and Andrew; is a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes where he sings in the choir and serves as substitute organist; is a life member of the Citizens Hose Company, Smyrna, Delaware and a member of the Citizens Hose Company Fireman's Band where he plays the trumpet.

He is past president of the Lewes Fire Department; member and past president of the Delaware State Funeral Director's Association; member of the Delmarva Funeral Service Assn.; the National Funeral Director's Assn.; the Cremation Society of North America; member of the  Board of Directors of Delaware Hospice; member of the Georgetown and Bridgeville Historical Societies; and former member and treasurer of Rehoboth Beach Kiwanis Club.



Alison Parsell

Director of Operations

Alison, Keith's wife,  joined the staff in 2003. She is a native Delawarean, raised in Dover; graduated from Caesar Rodney School District and the Peninsula General Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. She relocated to Lewes in 1980.

Alison holds an insurance license in the State of Delaware for preneed funeral arrangements.

Alison has two children: Stephen Jones and Amanda Boyer; is a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes where she is a past member of the choir, music librarian, Administrative Board Secretary, and Sunday School Assistant.

She is a former member of the Board of Director's and former assistant treasurer of the Lewes Historical Society and curator of the Doctor's Office Museum. Also, she is a former member of the Sussex County Medical Society Auxiliary where she assisted in the production of many fund raising local fashion shows.



Dan Lodovici

Licensed Delaware & Pennsylvania Funeral Director

Dan was raised in the Borough of New Eagle, Southwestern Pennsylvania, on the mighty Monongahela River. He attended Indiana University of PA graduating from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1978 with high honors.

Following graduation, he worked for one of the largest funeral homes in Pittsburgh for ten years before moving north to the rural area of Armstrong County, PA. The move north gave him the opportunity to supervise one of three funeral homes owned by a large funeral home company. After 12 years as a Supervisor, he returned to his roots in New Eagle where he worked for the largest funeral home/cemetery combination establishment in Western Pennsylvania. Dan relocated toLewes, Delaware in February 2006 where he joined the Parsell Funeral Home family.

During his career Dan was a five day volunteer as a funeral director/pathology assistant for the processing of tissue specimensafter the USAir flight 427 disaster in Hopewell Twp., PA. He was a five year coordinator and finance director of the Leechburg Ministerium Annual Community Christmas Choir, where he sang tenor. He holds Certificates in Advanced Embalming Techniques from the Fountain National Academy and the Dodge Institute. 

Dan holds both Pennsylvania and Delaware Funeral Director's licenses and he is a licensed Delaware preneed insurance agent.



SCOTT L. SMITH

Licensed Maryland Funeral Director

Scott L. Smith joined our firm in 2010 as a Licensed Funeral Director with 35 years experience in the business.  After graduating from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1975 he worked in the Washington, DC area for many years until relocating to the Eastern Shore in 2001.  In his spare time, Scott, and his wife Darlene, enjoy spending time with their family and granddaughter.



Groome Mears

Funeral Director

Groome joined our staff as a Licensed Funeral Director in 1998.  His expertise of many years in the funeral industry both as a licensed director and as an owner of his own funeral establishment in Middletown, Delaware provides a wealth of historical background to the combined licensed experience of this firm.  Groome along with his wife Roseanne reside in Lewes and attend the Lewes Presbyterian Church where he is the choir director.  He is a valued and devoted member of our firm.



Frank Basile

Licensed Delaware Funeral Director

Frank Basile joined our firm in 2007.  Frank has been in the funeral business for more than 30 years having worked mostly in the New York area as manager of various large funeral homes and most recently as the owner of his own funeral homes, prior to retiring in 2001.  Frank and his wife Barbara relocated to the beach in 2003, are members of St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes, DE and enjoy time spent with their children and grandchildren. 



Andrew Parsell

Delaware Licensed Funeral Director

Andrew Parsell is the son of  the owner, Keith Parsell.  He is a graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and a 2008 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.  Andrew completed his resident internship with the firm is now Chief Networking Officer of the funeral home. He is an active member of St. Jude The Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes.  Andrew is a very active member at The Lewes Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. where he is a Fire Line Officer and also serves on the ambulance.  He is an avid golfer, fisherman and hunter. 



Johnathan Parsell

CFO & Funeral Home Associate

Johnathan Parsell is the son of the owner, Keith Parsell.  Johnathan is a 2003 graduate of Cape Henlopen High School and he earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Marketing and Operations Management in 2008 from the University of Delaware,
Alfred Lerner College School of Business, and continued with various accounting classes at the University until June of 2009 when he officially joined the funeral home as a full time associate & Chief Finanical Officer.

Johnathan has been a member of the firm since 2000. He also serves on the Cadbury Foundation Board of Directors.   

Johnathan is a member of the Lewes Volunteer Fire Department.  In his spare time he enjoys visiting art museums, historical landmarks, and exploring new places.   



Fran O'Malley

Office Manager

Fran has been with the company since 2004. She is the Office Manager responsible for training staff on all computer software, and ensures timely production of all  materials needed to serve our families. Prior to joining the firm, Fran enjoyed a 30 year career with the Federal government as a housing specialist with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.  Fran holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the University of Southern California, Washington Public Affairs Center.

Fran moved from Alexandria, VA to Delaware in 2002.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and going to the beach; she is a lector at Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church, Millsboro.



Harvey Walls

Crematory Manager

Harvey joined the company in 2001 after retiring from the DuPont Company in Seaford.  He is a Certified Crematory Operator.  He manages the Eastern Shore Crematorium which includes responsibility for all aspects of the operation and maintenance of the human and pet crematories.  He also handles all pet arrangements. 



Wes Jones

Grounds & Maintenance
Wes joined the company in 2004. Wes has a solution for everything that needs to be repaired or replaced. Prior to joining the funeral home staff, Wes was an officer with a local police department.



Paul J. Carsello

Funeral Home Associate

Paul joined our staff in mid 2006.  He comes to us with over 12 years experience in the funeral business.  Paul has been married to Marge for over 45 years.  They have two daughters and one granddaughter whom Paul loves to spoil.  In his spare time he enjoys fishing and golfing.  Paul is a member of American Legion Post 28, Oak Orchard.



Sharon Hawk

Funeral Hostess

Sharon Hawk has been a Funeral Hostess on staff since 2005, primarily in our Hardesty Chapel, Bridgeville.  She and her husband Charles are life-long residents of the Bridgeville area.  Sharon is a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church where she is very active with the various church committees. 





Bob McDermott

Funeral Home Associate

Bob McDermott joined the funeral home staff in 2008 as a Funeral Home Associate. 

Bob is a member of Mary Mother of Peace Catholic Church in Millsboro and a member of the Knights of Columbus.



Suzi Berry

Funeral Hostess

Suzi Berry joined the firm in 2004 serving as a funeral hostess primarily for the Atkins-Lodge Chapel in Lewes.  



Clare Johnson

Funeral Hostess

Clare Johnson joined our staff in 1988 as a funeral hostess working primarily at our Lewes Chapel. She and her husband Rudy are very well known in the Lewes area and are very active in various communty activities.  They are very active in St. Jude the Apostle Catholic Church, Lewes, DE. where Clare serves as an Eucharistic Minister. 



Ron Fleetwood

Funeral Home Associate

Ron Fleetwood joined the staff in 2007 serving our Bridgeville and Georgetown locations.  Ron and his wife Alma reside in the Seaford area and enjoy spoiling their grandchildren.  They attend Union United Methodist Church in Seaford, DE and are members of the Bridgeville Historical Societies and very active in the Apple-Scrapple Festivals each year.

Doug joined our firm in 2009 and has been a welcome addition to our support staff here at the funeral home.

Doug and his wife Gale make their home near Lewes and enjoy entertaining family and friends when they come to enjoy the beach. Doug is pastor of Greenwood United Methodist Church. He looks forward to assisting the Parsell family as they serve families in Lower Delaware.
